Tucker Balch serves as Adjunct Professor and Associate Chair for Graduate Studies in the School of Interactive Computing at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He is also Chief Scientist and co-founder of Lucena Research, an investment software firm specializing in machine learning applications for finance.
His research investigates multi-agent social behavior across diverse domains including financial markets, robotics, and biological systems (ants, honeybees, and monkeys). He teaches Robotics, Machine Learning, and Finance courses, having educated over 170,000 students through online platforms like Coursera and Udacity. His work bridges computational methods with real-world applications in both financial and biological contexts.
