Troy Runge is the Patrick Walsh & Noreen Warren Professor of Biological Systems Engineering and Associate Dean for Research in the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He holds joint appointments at the Wisconsin Energy Institute and Biological Systems Engineering department.
Education: B.S. (UW-Stevens Point), M.S. and Ph.D. (Georgia Institute of Technology)
Research concentrates on bioenergy systems, biomass processing, lignocellulose chemistry, and sustainable biomaterials. Current projects investigate biomass composition impacts on bioprocessing systems including anaerobic digestion, combustion, gasification, and catalysis.
Publications focus on biomass conversion technologies, nanocellulose applications, sustainable materials development, and techno-economic analysis of bioprocesses.
Primary research initiatives include biomass composition analysis, separation technologies, and sustainable material design with applications in bioenergy and bioproducts.
