Troy Hicks

Dr. Troy Hicks is a Professor of English and Education at Central Michigan University's College of Education and Human Services. He serves as Director of the Chippewa River Writing Project (a National Writing Project site) and Acting Associate Dean of Education & Human Services. His work focuses on literacy instruction, technology integration in education, and teacher professional development.

Hicks' research explores intersections between writing instruction, digital literacies, and educational technology. He has authored dozens of publications on topics including digital writing, media literacy, and inquiry-based pedagogies, with recent works emphasizing mindful technology use in English Language Arts classrooms.

Hicks' publications demonstrate a consistent focus on educational technology applications (particularly for digital writing), interdisciplinary literacy approaches, and modernizing K-12 instructional practices through technology. His work spans both theoretical and practical domains across English and science education.
