Troy Cline is a Professor in the Biological Sciences Department at California State University, Chico. His research focuses on avian influenza viruses, specifically investigating their circulation in wild waterfowl populations, their potential risks to human and poultry health, and the ecological factors enabling their global spread. He teaches courses such as Allied Health Microbiology, Pandemics, Germs, and Society, and Advanced Cellular/Molecular Biology.
Research Projects: The Cline Lab studies influenza virus surveillance in the northern Sacramento Valley, behavioral/physiological traits of waterfowl as viral reservoirs, and migration routes' role in virus transcontinental spread.
