Trish Stringer

Trish Stringer is a Full Executive Professor at the Alberta School of Business within the Department of Accounting and Business Analytics at the University of Alberta. She holds a Master of Financial Management (2014), a Bachelor of Mathematics (1992) from the University of Waterloo, and certifications including Chartered Accountant (1997), Certified Management Accountant (1994), and Chartered Accountant (Alberta).

Her expertise spans Controllership outsourcing, process documentation, and business process re-design, alongside teaching. She emphasizes leveraging accounting software to enhance organizational efficiency and student learning. Courses taught include Introduction to Accounting for Financial Performance, Intermediate Financial Accounting, and Accounting for Natural Resources, Energy, and the Environment.

Research Interests: Focus on applying accounting principles to natural resource sectors, environmental liabilities, and strategic financial management. She integrates technology in education to support student success in accounting and related fields.

Awards: Recognized as a Fellow of the Chartered Professional Accountants (FCPA), Fellow of the Certified Management Accountants (FCMA), and Fellow of the Chartered Accountants (FCA).

Teaching and Experience: Since 2009, she has taught extensively at the University of Alberta. Prior to academia, she worked in public accounting, consulting, and owned her own business providing accounting and advisory services.
