Trish Greenhalgh is Professor of Primary Care Health Science at the University of Oxford and a Fellow of Green Templeton College. She co-leads the Interdisciplinary Research in Health Sciences (IRIHS) team, which integrates expertise from anthropology, health economics, clinical practice, and social sciences to address complex healthcare challenges. Her work focuses on pragmatic solutions for contemporary health systems, including technology-supported integrated care for older adults.
Her research interests center on evidence-based medicine, remote healthcare delivery, pandemic response strategies, and interdisciplinary methodologies. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she led rapid-response initiatives such as the 'Remote-By-Default' study and co-authored seminal BMJ guidance on remote patient assessment, directly influencing NHS policies.
She has secured significant research funding from the Wellcome Trust, National Institute for Health Research (NIHR), Medical Research Council (MRC), and Scottish Government. Her team collaborates globally, including partnerships with Chinese academics and frontline NHS clinicians.
