Travis M. Fink

Dr. Travis M. Fink is a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Anthropology at Miami University (Oxford, Ohio). He holds a Ph.D. from Tulane University and focuses on cultural and environmental anthropology with expertise in ethnicity, ethnohistory, and indigenous historicities among Amazonian groups in Ecuador and Peru.

His research centers on the Shiwiar people of the Ecuadorian Amazon, exploring ethnic identity formation, historical ecologies, and indigenous engagement in environmental movements. Current projects examine Shiwiar mediation of territorial disputes with neighboring groups and external actors.
