Travis Le Wagner is an Assistant Professor in the School of Information Sciences at the University of Illinois. They hold a PhD and identify with they/them pronouns.
Research focuses on queer embodiment, LGBTQIA+ information practices, health information systems, and sociotechnical equity. Recent work explores digital curation practices, archival labor in HIV/AIDS documentation, and ICT's role in sexual assault reporting. They have contributed 52+ scholarly outputs including peer-reviewed articles and reviews.
Key areas of inquiry bridge queer theory with information science, addressing issues like colonial legacies in technology, affective dimensions of archival work, and digital disorientation during global health crises. Current projects examine how marginalized communities navigate information systems through embodied experiences.
