Tracy Orwig

Tracy Orwig is an Associate Professor of Practice in the School of Social Work at The University of Texas at Arlington. She specializes in Interprofessional Education (IPE), health disparities, and child maltreatment. Her roles include developing IPE programs, coordinating study abroad initiatives, and advising graduate students. She holds an MSSW from UTA (2009) and a BA in Psychology from Austin College (2004).

Research interests focus on IPE’s role in healthcare equity, mandated reporting, and global health. Awards include the Distinguished Fellow of NAP and Fernando G. Torgerson Award. She has secured grants totaling over $900K for projects like equitable mandated reporting and disability-focused IPE.

Teaching includes courses on healthcare access, child maltreatment assessment, and health equity. She mentors students in clinical practice and serves on numerous committees, including the Texas IPE Consortium and NASW-Fort Worth.
