Traci Alberti, Ph.D., is the Academic Dean of Nursing and Co-Director of the School of Nursing and Health Sciences (SNHS) at Merrimack College. Her expertise spans nursing workforce sustainability, nurse well-being, community health, and health literacy. She leads the Academic-Community Partnership between Merrimack and the Massachusetts Merrimack Valley Area Health Education Center (MV-AHEC), focusing on interprofessional collaborative healthcare solutions.
Dr. Alberti holds a Ph.D. in Nursing and Health Promotion from UMass Lowell, an M.S. in Family Nurse Practitioner and Community Health, and a B.S. in Nursing from Fitchburg State College. Her research emphasizes newly licensed nurses' transition to practice, health communication in families, and urgent care discharge compliance.
Her work with the Massachusetts Nursing Council on Workforce Sustainability addresses systemic challenges in healthcare staffing. Recent publications highlight nurse retention strategies, health literacy in urgent care settings, and family health communication dynamics. She contributes to primary care education through textbook chapters on infectious diseases like influenza and mononucleosis.
Dr. Alberti co-piloted the HEAL Program at Notre Dame Education Center-Lawrence, fostering community health initiatives. Her leadership integrates strategic planning with hands-on academic-community partnerships to advance healthcare equity and professional nursing practices.
