Prof. Dr. Torsten Eymann is a full Professor and holds the Chair of Business Informatics & Digital Society at the University of Bayreuth. He is also Director of the FIM Research Institute for Information Management and holds a leading role at the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Information Technology (FIT). He has served as CIO of the University of Bayreuth and was Vice President for Digitalization and Innovation from 2015 to 2021.
His research focuses on the digital society, particularly in digital health, education, and sports. He investigates digital transformation, user acceptance of technology, secure information systems, and digital business models using design- and behavior-oriented methods. His work spans healthcare, SMEs, and the public sector.
The recent publications highlight a strong trend in generative AI, digital health, telemedicine, digital maturity models, and cybersecurity, especially zero-trust architectures. His work integrates AI, privacy, and organizational change, often in healthcare and public institutions.
