Torsten Bornemann

Prof. Dr. Torsten Bornemann holds the Professorship for Marketing at Goethe University Frankfurt since 2017, previously serving as Chair of Business Administration and Marketing at the University of Stuttgart. He earned his PhD and habilitation from the University of Mannheim (2010/2012) after studies in Mannheim, Maastricht, and Hong Kong. His research focuses on interorganizational relationships, corporate sociopolitical activism, and consumer behavior, published in top journals like the Journal of Marketing Research and Strategic Management Journal. He has received prestigious awards including the AMS Best Dissertation Award and multiple AMA Best Paper Awards.

His academic career includes visiting roles at Duke University, Norwegian Business School, and the University of Bern. Prof. Bornemann leads the Consumer Behavior Research Lab and supervises a team including researchers like Dr. Dominik Hettich and Sophie Feldner, M.Sc. His work bridges theory and practice, addressing topics like insurance pricing psychology, B2B CSR dynamics, and aging consumer behavior.

Key publications highlight innovative areas such as the financial implications of product release timing (JAMS, 2020) and the dual role of price in consumer psychology (JCR, 2011). He maintains active collaborations across international institutions and regularly contributes to marketing education through courses like Advanced Topics in Marketing Research.
