Prof. Dr. Torben Schmidt is a Professor of English Didactics at the Leuphana University Lüneburg, where he has worked since 2011. As founder and director of the Future Center of Teacher Education (2018-2024), he led Germany’s national Excellence Initiative for Teacher Education. His research focuses on digital innovations in EFL classrooms, including AI-driven tutoring systems, gamified learning, and sustainable pedagogy.
