Toomas Tammis is a Professor and Head of the Department of Volumetric Architecture at the Estonian Academy of Arts (EAA). He is affiliated with the Faculty of Architecture and serves as a Master's Thesis Supervisor. His professional background includes founding architectural offices ArhitektuuriAgentuur and Allianss Arhitektid OÜ. Tammis has extensive teaching experience, leading master’s studios and first-year architectural graphics courses at EAA. He actively engages in architectural exhibitions, lectures, and writing, focusing on topics like architectural education, the evolving role of architects, and public space design as dynamic elements of the physical world.
Education: He studied architecture at the Estonian Academy of Arts in Tallinn and the AA School of Architecture in London.
Research & Projects: Tammis is currently launching practice-based doctoral studies in architecture at EAA. His notable works include the Vamråk holiday village in Norway (collaboration with Paco Ulman), the Spa Hotel in Kuressaare (with Inga Raukas and Tarmo Teedumäe), and multiple residential projects in and around Tallinn. He emphasizes bridging academic research with professional architectural practice through exhibitions and educational initiatives.
