Tony Jackson

Tony Jackson is a Professor of English at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNC Charlotte), specializing in Literary theory, Film Studies, and Cognitive literary/film studies. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), an M.A. from the University of Oregon, and a B.A. from the University of South Carolina at Columbia.

Research Interests

His work explores the intersection of cognitive science with literature and film, focusing on narrative theory, the history of the novel, and British literature. Notable projects include What Neuroscience Can Tell Us about the Art of Imitation and studies on AI's impact on artistic imitation. He has published extensively on topics such as dystopian literature, visual cognition in cinema, and interdisciplinary methodologies in literary analysis.
