Tony Cowell

Tony Cowell is a Senior Lecturer in Secondary Education at Sheffield Hallam University, holding dual affiliations with the Departments of Teacher Education and Art and Design. He serves as Cluster Leader for PGCE routes in Design and Technology, Engineering, and Art and Design. His career spans 18 years in South Yorkshire schools, focusing on electronics, systems teaching, and leadership in assessment and data management. Appointed to the University's Centre for Design and Technology Education in 2008, he has been recognized with an Inspirational Teaching Award (2011).

**Education**: MA, BEd, HNC. Early career as an apprentice technician at British Rail Engineering Limited, specializing in jig and fixture design.
