Toni Lampell

Toni Lampell is a Unit 18 Lecturer in the Department of Literature at the University of California, San Diego. She holds a graduate degree in Education from SUNY Buffalo and a degree in Hispanic Studies from Francisco Marroquin University in Guatemala. With over 20 years of experience, she has taught Spanish in multiple countries including Bangladesh, El Salvador, Guatemala, Uruguay, Bolivia, and currently in San Diego.

Her research focuses on migration, identity, and literature in Hispanic countries, particularly Central America. She emphasizes cultural understanding through language education, advocating for the connection between language learning and cultural appreciation. Lampell has coordinated Spanish literary clubs and moderated workshops in several countries, promoting Latin American literary heritage.

She is fluent in English and Spanish, and her teaching philosophy centers on fostering global awareness through linguistic and cultural immersion.
