Tomoko Seto

Tomoko Seto is an Associate Professor at Kobe College's Faculty of International Studies, specializing in Historical Gender Studies and Modern Japanese History. She earned her PhD in East Asian Languages and Civilizations (Japanese History) from the University of Chicago.

• Teaches courses: Field Study in Food and Culture, Modern Japan in a Global Context, Theories of Gender and Cultural Studies, Field Study between Korea and Japan, Gender in Modern Japanese History, Transnational Feminism, Japanese Popular Culture
• Research focus on post-WWII gender dynamics, Cold War influences on women's professional wrestling, and societal gender roles
