About
Professor Tomasz Starecki is a faculty member at the Warsaw University of Technology's Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology. He serves as Dean of the Faculty (2024-present) and leads the Research Group on Pulse and Photoacoustic Techniques. His academic credentials include M.Sc. (1988), Ph.D. (1995), D.Sc. (2009), and MBA (2020). He has held leadership roles including Director of the Institute of Electronic Systems (2016-2020) and vice-Dean for Research (2020-2024).
- Ph.D. (1995) and D.Sc. (2009) in Electrical Engineering
- MBA (2020) from Warsaw University of Technology
His research focuses on Photoacoustics, Digital Systems, and Electronic Instrumentation, with particular emphasis on Quartz-enhanced photoacoustic spectroscopy (QEPAS), Embedded control systems, and Optical sensor development. Recent work explores advanced preamplifier designs, multi-cavity photoacoustic cells, and signal processing techniques for gas sensing applications.
Publications and patents in the last decade demonstrate expertise in sensor technology, optoacoustic measurement systems, and low-noise electronics. He has contributed to CTA Observatory gamma-ray research while maintaining core focus on applied physics and instrumentation engineering through over 100 publications.
Key affiliations include:
- Leader of Pulse and Photoacoustic Techniques Research Group
- Member of Polish Academy of Sciences Committee (2021-present)
- Guest Editor for Sensors (2021-present) and Electronics (2024-present)
He maintains active roles in organizing the Conference on Photoacoustic and Photothermal Theory and Applications (CPPTA Chair since 2012) and has contributed to the development of educational tools for electronic measurement systems.
