Tomas Bergström is a Professor at the Department of Political Science, Faculty of Social Sciences, Lund University. His work focuses on leadership in the public sector, local democracy, and organizational theory, with a current emphasis on conflict resolution in cities with violent pasts under the "Contested administrations" research program funded by the Swedish Research Council (VR). He co-directs the EGPA study group on Local governance and democracy, examining local autonomy and intergovernmental relations. Bergström teaches in the Master's programs in Political Science and Welfare Policies and Management (WPM), where he chairs the steering committee.
