Dr. Tom Truesdell is a Lecturer in the Department of English at Northwestern College, where he also serves as Director of Student Success and Coordinator of Writing Across the Curriculum. He holds a Ph.D. in composition & TESOL from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, an M.A. in writing theory and pedagogy from DePaul University, and a B.A. from Northwestern College. His research focuses on writing center theory, composition pedagogy, and issues of social justice in education. He has presented at international conferences such as the IWCA-NCPTW Joint Conference and has conducted workshops in Taiwan on writing center development.
Truesdell has published in journals like Praxis: A Writing Center Journal and Perspectives: A Journal of Reformed Thought, exploring topics ranging from post-process theory to the role of director presence in writing centers. His work often bridges practical pedagogy with theoretical frameworks, particularly in supporting multilingual writers (TESOL).
