Professor Tom Smith leads research on bacterial oxygenases and their applications in bioremediation and biocatalysis at Sheffield Hallam's Biomolecular Sciences Research Centre. His team studies methane-oxidizing bacteria for environmental cleanup and develops novel antimicrobial coatings.
Research Areas: Molecular mechanisms of bacterial oxygenases, hospital microbiome analysis, heavy metal bioremediation, and corrosion-inhibiting bacterial coatings.
