Tom Ratsakatika is a Machine Learning and Remote Sensing Researcher at the University of Cambridge, affiliated with the Department of Computer Science and Technology and the Centre for Doctoral Training in Artificial Intelligence for Environmental Risk. As a PhD candidate, his research focuses on developing AI and remote sensing techniques to detect and conserve biodiverse old-growth forests. His current work involves collaborations with institutions like Fundația Conservation Carpathia and integrates deep learning models (e.g., MegaDetector, DeepFaune) for wildlife monitoring systems. He also contributed to earthquake predictability research using LSTM and TCN models as part of the AI4ER CDT program at Cambridge.
