Tom Mels is an Associate Professor in the Department of Human Geography at Uppsala University (Campus Gotland), where he coordinates the undergraduate planning program. Previously, he held positions at Lund University, Malmö University, Kalmar University, and Gotland University, with a postdoctoral fellowship at University College Dublin (2001-2002). He earned his PhD in Human Geography from Lund University in 1999.
Research Focus
Mels' work explores power, justice, and the politics of nature/landscape through historical, materialist, and humanist lenses. Key themes include:
