Tom Kurtzman

Tom Kurtzman is an Associate Professor at Lehman College, affiliated with the Department of Chemistry. His research focuses on computational methods for drug discovery, integrating statistical mechanical theory and computer simulations to analyze solvation effects in molecular recognition.

• Education: B.A. from UC Santa Cruz (1994), Ph.D. from Stanford University (2002).
• Research Interests: Solvation thermodynamics, water structure in protein-ligand interactions, and development of open-source tools like SSTMap and GISTPP for solvation analysis in drug design.
