Tom Hopper

Tom Hopper is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Central Florida, leading the UltraFast Control Lab. His research focuses on ultrafast laser control techniques to advance materials & device science for energy, optoelectronics, and quantum technologies. He holds a Master's in Chemistry from Newcastle University (2016) and a PhD from Imperial College London, followed by postdoctoral roles at Stanford University and SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory.

Advising and grants: Currently leads a research group at UCF, actively recruiting students to explore novel energy and optoelectronic technologies. His lab emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration in quantum and nanomaterials research.
