Tom Fahey

Tom Fahey serves as Professor of General Practice at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) and Principal Investigator for the Health Research Board Clinical Practice Research Centre (HRB CPCR). With over 20 years of clinical experience across Oxford, Bristol, Dundee, and Dublin, he maintains active practice at Belgrave Clinic in Dublin while leading academic research and teaching initiatives.

Prof. Fahey's research centers on translating evidence into clinical practice through applied Clinical Epidemiology. This interdisciplinary approach integrates primary care medicine with health informatics to optimize patient outcomes in real-world settings.

As HRB CPCR Principal Investigator, he directs nationally funded research programs addressing critical primary care challenges. His leadership extends to advisory roles on the Irish Medicines Board's Advisory Committee for Human Medicines and the Irish College of General Practitioners, where he influences national healthcare policy and professional standards.
