Tom Dawson is a Professorial Research Fellow in the School of History at the University of St Andrews. His research focuses on coastal heritage, community archaeology, and heritage management, with a strong emphasis on climate change impacts. He has held roles as a Commissioner of the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Scotland and Vice President of the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland until 2018. Dawson teaches archaeology and integrates filmmaking into public history modules, enabling students to produce documentaries instead of traditional dissertations.
