Tom Davidson is an Associate Professor at the Dan School of Drama and Music within the Faculty of Arts and Science at Queen's University. He has been teaching piano and musicianship since 1984 and coordinates the Performance and Keyboard areas. Davidson holds degrees from Queen's University (B.Mus.), McGill University (M.Mus.), and the Royal College of Music (A.R.C.M., L.T.C.L.).
His research and performance interests focus on contemporary Canadian music, chamber music collaborations, and piano pedagogy. He is the Founder and Artistic Director of Trio Chanteclair and has premiered many Canadian works. Davidson has also taught at McGill’s Schulich School of Music for over 30 years and Marianopolis College (CEGEP), mentoring numerous students.
He serves as Québec Provincial Administrator for the Federation of Canadian Music Festivals, a Board of Governors member, and has held leadership roles in organizations like the Canadian Music Festival Adjudicators’ Association. Davidson is a sought-after adjudicator and workshop animator across Canada and the U.S.
