Tom Bendsten is a Lecturer at the Stuart Weitzman School of Design, University of Pennsylvania. He holds an MFA from SUNY Buffalo (2003) and a Bachelor's from OCAD University, Toronto. His practice spans sculpture, film, and public art, with exhibitions at institutions like the Albright-Knox Gallery, Grounds for Sculpture, and The Rooms. He participated in Toronto’s Nuit Blanche (2008) and Luminato (2009) festivals, and his films have screened across North America and Europe.
Recipient of the Chalmers Art Fellowship (2006) and grants from Toronto, Ontario, and Canada Councils for the Arts, Bendsten’s work explores spatial and material interventions in public and gallery contexts. He currently resides and works in Philadelphia.
