Todd Newfield is an Instructor at Capilano University's School of Business within the Faculty of Business and Professional Studies. He holds a B.Comm. from the University of Calgary (1984), M.Sc. JBS from Chaminade University of Honolulu and Sophia University (1985), and completed PhD-level courses in France (2010–2011). His professional career spans over 20 years in investment banking, marketing, media, and technology across Japan and Canada.
Teaching interests include marketing, advertising, entrepreneurship, strategy, and digital media. He created the BOSS curriculum for Continuing Education and served as Promotions Convenor for the School of Business (2005–2013). Notable roles include founding the FlyingColor Group in Tokyo (1993) and advising startups via undercoverprof.com.
Award-winning educator and marketer, Newfield has contributed over 30 articles on interactive media, mobile marketing, and Japan business, featured in The Japan Advertising Journal and Business Japan. Active in industry speaking and trade programs with BCIT, Alberta/BC government initiatives, and international chambers of commerce.
