Todd Hartman is a Professor of Quantitative Social Science and Deputy Director of the Cathie Marsh Institute at The University of Manchester. His research focuses on psychological underpinnings of public opinion, political psychology, and quantitative methods. He holds a PhD from Stony Brook University (2009), an MA from San Francisco State University (2003), and a BA from the University of California, Davis (1998). His work explores pandemic mental health, Brexit’s societal impact, and network analysis of belief systems.
Research interests include political psychology, network analysis, experimental design, and quantitative social science. Notable contributions include studies on adolescent mental health during the pandemic, psychopathological responses to crises, and Brexit’s emotional consequences. He has been recognized as the Daniel B German Distinguished Professor (2022-2023).
