Todd Graham is a Professor of Debate and Director of the Saluki Debate Team at the School of Communication Studies, Southern Illinois University Carbondale. He holds a Ph.D. in Communication from Arizona State University (2000), an M.A. in Speech Communication from Kansas State University (1990), and a B.A. in Communication from Missouri Southern State College (1987).
His research focuses on:
- Political and presidential debate analysis
- Argumentation theory and conflict resolution
- Humor applications in corporate, legal, and public contexts
- Persuasive communication across interpersonal and public settings
As Director of Debate, Graham recruits and coaches national championship-winning teams, having led SIU to titles at both the National Parliamentary Debate Association and National Parliamentary Tournament of Excellence. He contributes political debate analysis for CNN.com and teaches undergraduate/graduate courses in argumentation, persuasion, public speaking, and humor.
