Dr. Todd E. Humphreys is a Professor at the Cockrell School of Engineering, The University of Texas at Austin, specializing in the Department of Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics. He is also affiliated with the Wireless Networking and Communications Group (WNCG) and the Radionavigation Laboratory. Dr. Humphreys serves on the graduate study committee of the UT Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
His research focuses on Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) technology and security, Satellite communications and navigation, Detection and estimation, and Software-defined radio. His work extends to Autonomous systems, Signal Processing, Controls, Robotics, and Orbital Mechanics.
Dr. Humphreys has received numerous accolades, including the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers (PECASE) in 2019, IEEE Walter Fried Best Paper Awards (2012, 2020, 2023), and the Institute of Navigation Johannes Kepler Award (2023). He was elected Fellow of the Institute of Navigation (2020) and the Royal Institute of Navigation (2021).
