Ting-Hui Lee

Dr. Ting-Hui Lee is a Visiting Assistant Professor at Western Kentucky University's Department of Physics within the College of Science. He teaches courses including Astronomy 104 (Solar System), Physics 130 (Acoustics of Music and Speech), and Physics 266 (University Physics Lab). His research focuses on Planetary Nebulae morphology, Symbiotic Star systems, extrasolar planet detection, and galaxy interactions. Originally from Taiwan, he holds a PhD from the University of Calgary (2004) and completed postdoctoral research at the National Optical Astronomy Observatory (NOAO) in Tucson.

Teaching emphasizes hands-on laboratory work and modern data analysis techniques. Courses incorporate clicker-based engagement and collaborative learning activities. Research interests also extend to acoustics and music physics, reflecting his personal passion for traditional Chinese instruments like the guzheng and pipa.
