Timothy Yuen

Dr. Timothy Yuen is a Professor in the Department of Interdisciplinary Learning and Teaching at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), with joint appointments in the Department of Computer Science (College of Sciences) and the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (Klesse College of Engineering and Integrated Design). He currently serves as Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies and Interim Associate Dean for Faculty Success in the College of Sciences. His work focuses on enhancing student success and pedagogical practices in STEM disciplines across K-12 and higher education.

Recent publications highlight trends in STEM education, including teacher training programs, pandemic-era online learning adaptations, stereotype threat mitigation for Latinx students, and the embedded expert model for faculty transitioning from industry to academia. His work also explores diversity in cybersecurity education and retention strategies for engineering undergraduates.

Dr. Yuen contributes to academic leadership as Co-Chair of the ACM SIGCSE Technical Symposium (2025–2026) and advocates for inclusive, multicultural educational frameworks that align with UTSA’s College of Education and Human Development mission to foster transformative, cross-national leadership.
