Timothy S. Forest

Dr. Timothy S. Forest is an Associate Professor of History at the University of Cincinnati – Blue Ash. His research focuses on settler colonialism, state-directed colonization, frontiers, and intersections of race, gender, and identity in British and French empires during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

• PhD (2008) and MA (2002) in Modern British Imperialism from the University of Texas - Austin
• BA (1998) in European History and International Affairs from McGill University

His work explores the paradoxes of imperial policies, examining how marginalized groups like Hebridean Scots navigated colonial hierarchies. Recent publications analyze cultural identity in Canadian colonization, gender dynamics in Thatcher-era media, and comparative empire studies.
