Timothy Leasure is a Professor of Trumpet at The Ohio State University's School of Music. He holds a BM from Ohio University (1990) and an MM from The Ohio State University (1993). His career includes roles as principal trumpet with the Springfield Symphony and second trumpet in the ProMusica Chamber Orchestra. He has performed with prestigious ensembles such as the U.S. Navy Band, Columbus Symphony, and Cincinnati Symphony Orchestras.
His research interests focus on trumpet pedagogy and performance, with notable contributions through recordings and software development (e.g., Tromba Musica and Mahler Translations). He has been recognized with major awards including the 2015 Distinguished Scholar Award and 2004 Distinguished Teaching Award.
Leasure is an Associate Musician with the Columbus and Cincinnati Symphony Orchestras and performs on Yamaha trumpets. His teaching legacy includes students in universities, military bands, and public schools across the U.S.
