Timothy Jon Nelson

Timothy Jon Nelson is a Lecturer in Sociology and Public Policy at Princeton University, serving as Director of Undergraduate Studies in the Department of Sociology. He holds a PhD in Sociology from the University of Chicago (1997) and has taught at prestigious institutions including Johns Hopkins, Harvard, Northwestern, and the University of Pennsylvania.

Research Interests: His work focuses on low-income fathers' experiences, public policy implications, African American religious practices, and urban sociology. Current projects include a collaborative book on low-income fathers' work and child support across multiple metropolitan areas.
