Timothy Johnson

Timothy Johnson is an Associate Professor and Director of the University Writing Center at the University of Louisville. He was on leave during Spring 2022. His research focuses on the rhetoric shaping economic systems, particularly examining Ford Motor Company's films and their influence on visual and economic culture throughout the 20th century.

Research Interests: Dr. Johnson explores how corporate rhetoric intersects with economic structures and visual media. His current project analyzes Ford Motor Company's filmmaking as a tool for shaping economic and cultural narratives. His work bridges rhetorical theory, corporate history, and media studies.

Publications: His book Rhetoric Inc. (2020) and article in Rhetoric Society Quarterly (2016) highlight themes of corporatism, interstitial rhetoric, and the socio-economic impact of industrial filmmaking.
