Timothy Jackson

Dr. Timothy Jackson is a Lecturer in Economics at the University of Liverpool, serving as Deputy Director of Studies for the BSc programme. He teaches modules such as ECON355 (Debates in Macroeconomic Policy) and ECON128 (Development of Economic Thought), and coordinates ECON127 (Economic Principles for Business and Markets). He holds a PGCert in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA).

His research focuses on macro-prudential policy coordination, narrow banking systems, and the role of central bank digital currencies (CBDCs). He explores how policy frameworks can mitigate financial risks and enhance economic stability, particularly in cross-border and currency union contexts. Recent work examines regulatory spillovers and the benefits of international policy cooperation.

He leads initiatives like the Student Research Assistance Scheme and organizes Research Bites talks to engage students with faculty research. His office hours are held weekly via Zoom.
