Timothy Grotjohn

Timothy Grotjohn is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Michigan State University (MSU), part of the College of Engineering. His research focuses on microwave plasma processing, diamond materials science, and semiconductor device development. He has held leadership roles including Department Chair (2007-2014), Acting Chair (2005-2007), and R&D Director of the MSU/Fraunhofer Center for Coatings and Diamond Technologies (2015-2020).

Education: Ph.D. (1986), M.S. (1984), and B.E.E. (1982) in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University and the University of Minnesota.

Research interests include plasma diagnostics, diamond deposition reactor design, and applications in quantum sensors and high-energy detectors.
