About
Timothy Erickson is Associate Professor of Neurobiology in the Biology Department at the University of New Brunswick. His lab studies sensory hair cells in zebrafish to understand connections between sensory perception, neural processing, and behavior.
Research focuses on mechanosensory hair cells in the lateral line system, examining molecular mechanisms of mechanotransduction, hair cell regeneration after damage, and the role of sensory input in behaviors like swim bladder inflation and social interactions. Current projects investigate neural correlates of social behavior and screen for compounds affecting social cognition.
Teaching responsibilities include BIOL3323: Introduction to Neurobiology.
