About
Timothy Duckenfield is a Postdoctoral Research Assistant at the Centre for Fusion, Space and Astrophysics (CFSA) within the Faculty of Science at the University of Warwick. Under the supervision of Professor Valery Nakariakov, he investigates the Sun's corona, focusing on magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) oscillations, particularly "decay-less" kink oscillations, to improve space weather forecasting. His work bridges observational data from SDO/AIA, theoretical models, and simulations.
- Education: PhD in Physics (University of Warwick, 2020); MSci Joint Honours Mathematics & Physics (University of Durham, 2014).
- Research Focus: Analysis of EUV images for plasma diagnostics, motion magnification techniques, and exploring wave-induced thermal misbalance in solar atmospheric heating.
