Timothy Bayne is Professor of Philosophy at Monash University, specializing in philosophy of mind and cognitive science. His research examines consciousness measurement, conscious thought phenomenology, disorders of consciousness, and psychiatric taxonomy, with active projects developing frameworks for consciousness meters and integrated perception-thought models.
He has authored The Unity of Consciousness and Thought: A Very Short Introduction, and edited volumes including Cognitive Phenomenology. As a member of the CIFAR Brain, Mind and Consciousness program, he collaborates internationally on consciousness research.
