Timo Kumpula is a Professor at the Department of Geographical and Historical Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences and Business Studies, University of Eastern Finland. His research focuses on Arctic and boreal ecosystem dynamics, combining remote sensing technologies with field measurements to analyze vegetation patterns, permafrost degradation, and reindeer grazing impacts.
