Tim Tang is a Lecturer in Fluid Mechanics at the University of Manchester's Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering department. He joined in 2025 as an Assistant Professor in Fluids Simulation and Digital Twins. Previously, he held positions at the University of Oxford, including an Eric and Wendy Schmidt AI in Science Postdoctoral Fellowship. His research focuses on extreme fluid events, machine learning applications in fluid mechanics, and oceanic infrastructure interactions. He actively supervises PhD/MSc students and leads projects on rogue waves, nonlinear hydrodynamics, and AI-driven models for marine energy.
