Tim St Pierre

Tim St Pierre is a Professor and Senior Honorary Research Fellow at the School of Physics, Maths and Computing, University of Western Australia. His research focuses on biomagnetism, magnetic nanoparticles, iron overload disorders, and Schistosomiasis. He has authored over 164 publications and secured 70 grants, including projects on terahertz systems and magnetofection technology.

Key achievements include the Panos Englezos Prize (2016) and ATSE Clunies Ross Award (2010). His work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to health and innovation. Recent studies address liver iron profiling in hemochromatosis and cardiovascular impacts of diabetes remission.

He leads multidisciplinary teams on projects like the Multi-Modal Terahertz System (ARC-funded) and collaborations in schistosomiasis diagnostics. His lab develops magnetic tools for biomedical applications, including nanoparticle-based imaging and disease diagnostics.
