About
Prof. Tim Langen is a Full Professor leading the research division on Cold Molecules and Quantum Technologies at TU Wien's Atominstitut. His group investigates quantum phenomena using ultracold molecular systems with applications in precision measurements and quantum simulation.
Research focuses on:
- Quantum control of ultracold molecules
- Laser cooling of complex molecular species
- Nuclear-spin-dependent parity violation
- Self-assembled quantum materials
- Precision tests of fundamental physics
Recent breakthroughs include developing serrodyne techniques for laser cooling previously intractable barium monofluoride molecules and investigating dipolar quantum matter. Prof. Langen's work has applications in quantum information science, precision measurement of fundamental symmetries, and quantum simulation of many-body systems. He collaborates internationally and teaches in quantum technology master's programs.
