Tim Kendall is a Professor in the Department of English and Creative Writing at the University of Exeter. He holds a BA (1991) and D.Phil (1994) from Oxford University and served as Head of Department from 2007-2013. His research spans war poetry, nature writing, and literary archives, with a focus on William Golding's fiction.
Kendall's work explores the intersection of natural history and narrative, notably in wildlife conservation. His co-authored book Black Ops & Beaver Bombing was shortlisted for the Wainwright Prize. His anthology Poetry of the Second World War examines historical trauma through verse.
Awards include the Wainwright Prize nomination for contributions to environmental literature.
